Experimental Study on the Performance Characteristics of Thrust Vectoring Nozzle of Transonic Aircraft 천음속 항공기의 배기노즐 추력편향에 따른 성능특성 실험연구

Abstract

In this study, the performance characteristics of a scaled thrust vectoring nozzle applicable to transonic aircraft were analyzed using a supersonic wind tunnel test facility. The investigation was conducted through jet flow Schlieren visualization and thrust measurements at various nozzle deflection angles. The test nozzle was a 0.264 scale model based on the length of a virtual aircraft engine. The nozzle exit had a rectangular shape with an aspect ratio of 5, and thrust vectoring was achieved by a secondary flap at deflection angles of 0°, 5°, 10°, and 15°. Experimental results confirmed that the designed scaled thrust vectoring nozzle achieved effective thrust vectoring under an NPR of 2.0 operating conditions.

본 연구에서는 초음속 풍동 시험장치를 활용하여 천음속 항공기에 적용 가능한 축소형 추력편향 노즐에 대한 성능특성을 분석하였다. 추력편향 노즐 성능특성 연구는 노즐의 편향 각도에 따른 제트유동 쉴리렌 가시화 및 추력 계측 실험을 통하여 이루어졌으며 시험 노즐은 가상 항공기 엔진의 길이를 약 0.264배 축소하여 사용하였다. 노즐 출구 형상은 가로세로비 5를 가진 직사각형이며 추력편향은 이차 플랩을 통해 구현하였고, 편향 각도는 0°, 5°, 10°, 15°로 총 4가지를 사용하였다. 제트유동 가시화 및 추력 계측 실험 결과 본 연구에서 설계된 축소형 추력편향 배기노즐이 NPR 2.0 운용조건에서 효과적으로 추력편향이 이루어짐을 확인할 수 있었다.
