Abstract

Curvic coupling is a mechanical component which transmit torque and bending moment by connecting two shafts. It can transfer large torque, and maintain run-out between shafts due to the accurate curved teeth. In this study, we derived bending equation of beam by assuming two shafts with curvic coupling as a cantilever beam with stepped beam, then evaluated equivalent elastic modulus of curvic coupling by calculating deflection of beam from finite element analysis and substituting it into the equation of beam. And, we calculated slope of load-displacement and compared with test results to verify evaluated equivalent elastic modulus of curvic coupling.

커빅 커플링(Curvic Coupling)은 축과 축을 연결하여 토크와 굽힘 모멘트를 전달하는 기계요소이다. 작은 직경으로 큰 토크를 전달할 수 있으며, 정밀한 곡률을 가지는 치(Teeth)로 인해 결합되는 축들 간의 동심을 유지할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 커빅 커플링으로 결합된 두 축을 다단의 외팔보로 가정하여 굽힘 모멘트에 대한 보의 굽힘 방정식을 유도하고, 유한요소해석을 통해 처짐량을 구하여 앞에서 유도한 보의 굽힘 방정식에 대입함으로써 커빅 커플링부의 등가 탄성계수를 도출하였다. 그리고 도출된 등가 탄성계수의 비교 검증을 위해 압축 하중-변위에 대한 기울기를 계산하고 시험 결과와 비교하였다.
