South Korea’s Manned Space Launch Strategy through Soyuz and Falcon 9 Development Strategy

소유즈와 Falcon 9 개발 전략을 통한 한국형 유인 우주발사체 개발 전략

Abstract

In this study, the development process of Soyuz and Falcon 9 was studied for the development of a Korean manned space launch vehicle, and it was found that only gas generator cycle engines can be used for manned launch vehicles. The minimum launch success rate required to transition to a manned space launcher was analyzed to be 95%, which would require about 40 launches for the Nuri. The basic variant of the Nuri is expected to be capable of configuring a one- or two-seat manned space launch vehicle, and when improved, it can be upgraded to the Soyuz class.

본 연구에서 한국형 유인 우주발사체 개발을 위해 소유즈와 Falcon 9의 개발 과정에 대해 연구하였으며, 가스발생기 사이클 엔진만이 유인 발사체에 사용가능한 것을 알 수 있었다. 유인 우주발사체로 전환하기 위해 필요한 최소 발사 성공률은 95% 수준인 것으로 분석되었으며, 이를 위해 누리호에 약 40회의 발사가 필요할 것으로 나타났다. 누리호 기본형으로는 1~2인승의 유인 우주발사체를 구성할 수 있을 것으로 보이며, 개량시 소유즈 급으로 업그레이드 가능하다.
