Application Study on Turbo Engine Using Blended Bio-jet Fuel Manufactured in HEFA Process HEFA 공정으로 제조된 혼합 바이오항공유의 실 터보엔진 적용특성 연구

Abstract

This study is about the analysis on the application characteristics of a turbo engine of blended bio jet fuel which is developed in Korea. Blended bio jet fuel is manufactured with commercial Jet A-1 fuel at a volume ratio of 50% to 50%. Comparative performance tests with Jet A-1 fuel by applying the manufactured bio jet fuel to a turbojet engine showed no significant difference in engine thrust, specific fuel consumption, exhaust temperature, and other engine functions. This study demonstrated the possibility of using blended bio jet fuel in a real turbo engine for the first time in the country.

본 연구는 국내에서 연구 개발된 혼합바이오 항공유의 터보엔진 적용특성에 대한 분석결과이다. 혼합 바이오 항공유는 HEFA(Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids, 동식물성 유지의 수소첨가 전환반응) 공정으로 개발된 순수 바이오항공유에 상용 Jet A-1연료를 부피비율 50:50로 혼합한 항공유이다 제조된 혼합 바이오항공유를 터보제트엔진에 적용하여 Jet A-1 연료와 비교 성능시험을 실시한 결과, 엔진 추력, 비연료소모율, 배기가스 온도 및 기타 엔진 기능적인 면에서 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 분석되어 국내에서 개발된 혼합 바이오 항공유의 실 터보엔진 적용가능성에 대해 실증 확인하였다.
